From bar design to a custom piece of furniture, I am here to help

BAR/RESTAURANT DESIGN - Quote on request

Case Study- Chaat Cart, Marple, Cheshire

The Design Brief - To design a bar for a new Indian restaurant. I was approached by my client to create a feature pattern for her bar manufactured from copper and brass. with 'a kiss to India'

My inspiration and thought process - My two sources of inspiration -The paisley pattern giving a kiss to India and people sitting and talking around the bar. How would my pattern reflect this?

The finished bar- A paisley sound wave wrapping around the bar

The first stage of any commission is to discuss my clients ideas and vision for the piece. In this case we looked at the style of the bar, the interior design of the restaurant and the over all budget. This friendly, informal chat just allows us both to bounce ideas off each other so I can go away with all the knowledge I need to create this statement piece. We visited other restaurants in Manchester for inspiration which include metalwork in their interiors to see what aspects she liked and disliked. I sent samples of different metal finishes, coated and uncoated to create the look she desired.

If possible I like to visit the site where the piece is going to be situated. It just gives me a chance to feel the vibe of the place, take photos and measurements alongside creating some sketches and ideas. In this instance, I created various scale drawings of the bar alongside coloured illustrations so my client could visualise the space. I kept in regular contact sending emails of my selected designs. My client was very happy with the final design - A paisley hand drawn design laser cut from brass and copper and arranged around the bar to create a paisley sound wave.

My client loved this feature bar adding that finishing touch to her dream restaurant. It was so lovely working with an amazing client on a great project and hearing all the positive feedback from her customers.

WINDOW ART £50 per day

Are you a business, school, charity or homeowner who wants to advertise your shop or good cause. It could simply be that you want to brighten up your space or decorate your window for a special occasion . Then I am here to help. Due to Covid-19 window art is a safe way to create art with the minimal of disturbance whilst creating the biggest impact. I can work from inside or outside, creating modern or traditional designs. Here you see an example of my work I completed with a fellow artist for free to welcome the local children back after lockdown.

After the initial consultation, I will visit the property to look at the area you would like decorating to provide you with a quote. From our discussions I will create drawings/designs and upon your approval I will start creating the piece of art using specialist paint pens . These pens are waterproof creating window art that can last up to two years.

COMMISSION ARTWORK £100-£500

This past year we have been within our own four walls a little longer than we might wish. Sitting there realising this and that needs finishing. A recent client approached me after seeing my work and asked to commission an original piece of work

The Commission - An abstract piece of work -Acrylic on canvas

The Brief- The client had a new kitchen/ dining area fitted and requested a large statement piece of artwork to bring colour to the room.

We had a lovely informal chat regarding the type of artwork she liked, the desired size of the canvas and budget. I asked for 50% payment upon approval of the design. I kept my client updated with pictures and images of how the piece was progressing. It was so lovely handing over the finished artwork and seeing it on their wall. Apparently its a real feature piece, giving that finishing touch to the room.

CUSTOM FURNITURE/HOMEWARE DESIGN - Price on request

Client- Private client

Brief - To design a DJ stand and shelving unit

The couple loved music- either teaching it or playing music in social gatherings. They wanted a DJ table that in the day would look discreet and hide away the music decks and records but at weekends would come alive as the ultimate DJ stage. I had to design a table that was ascetically pleasing but in keeping with their room décor whilst being functional- providing shelving and storage within a small space. It was a great project to be involved with and the finished piece was a great success.
